In 1265, Molet was consecrated a Templar. From 1275 he participated in the campaigns of the Order in the Holy Land. In 1292-93, when the Templars had already left Palestine, he was elected Grand Master of the Order. With the abandonment of Palestine, the Order no longer had its main goal - the struggle for the Holy Land. In Paris, where the residence of the Order was located, rumors began to spread that during secret ceremonies the Templars performed lecherous and blasphemous rituals, that the templars practice witchcraft and worship the devil. In 1307, the French king Philip IV began a lawsuit against the Order. Enlisting the support of Pope Clement V, Philip took into custody the master of the order, Jacques de Molay, and all the templars who lived in France. Almost all the property of the Order passed to the royal treasury. Under torture, the templars confessed to sacrilege and devil worship. In 1312, Pope Clement V dissolved the Order, ordered the arrest of all its members in all countries and transferred its remaining values to other spiritual and knightly orders. Most of the convicted templars were thrown into prison, the main ones being burned as heretics in 1314 in Paris
